Summer Stroll is back for 2nd year.

The 3rd Avenue 'Summer Stroll' is longer this year than the 8 blocks it was in it's first year, which was last year. Gentile wants Community Boards chair to keep free parking passes.

Bloomberg has taken the free parking passes away from the heads of Community Boards that they have enjoyed for many years. Someone must have pissed him off and the little pissant is taking revenge. The chairperson of CB 10 for Bay Ridge is Joanne Seminara.

Supermarket on 81st and 3rd Avenue opening soon.

I've been watching this and they are making nice progress. I think they will open in a month or two but I'm just guessing. Still don't know what kind of market it will be. Anyone else know?

New bike lanes wanted

Andrew Gounardes (D), who is running against Marty Golden (R), wants more bike lanes in Bay Ridge. He said, “I’d like to see bike lanes that are better connected to the larger network.”

New food cart pops up on 4th Ave & 86th Street

I went by today and saw ANOTHER food cart like the 2 on 86th and 5th Avenue. They all look the same, with flashing signs. I wonder if the same guy owns them all. Something has to give in this.

Row boats and kyacks off 69th street pier?

I see where they are going to build another pier to launch rowboats, kyacks, sailboats, etc. It is supposed to be attached somehow to the existing pier.

Okay. This sounds like it will cost a lot of money. Once again, I can't see spending money for projects that aren't necessary while cutt...MORE...

Halal Food cart war on 86th street and 5th avenue

There are two carts on different corners on 86th street and 5th avenue. Neighbors and businesses have been complaining about them for years and no one in the community govt is doing anything about it.

Striking Bus Drivers return to work with no contract changes.

They wanted job security. The city has begun seeking bids from other transportation companies. If another company won a bid, it's possible the drivers wold lose their jobs to drivers who worked for the new company.

Dog poop getting to be a big problem in Bay Ridge

I don't see anyone monitoring this. There is a law against it. I'd love to know the last ticket that was issued for it. Most people are respectful of others but there are many inconsiderate filthy slobs who are not. I wonder what their nomes look like? Probably filthy as well.
